Saudi Arabia Launches Open AI Platform Powered by AMD and Cisco

AMD, Cisco, and HUMAIN have successfully launched an AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia using AMD's Instinct MI355X GPU-based systems. The deployment is powered by AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs, AMD EPYC CPUs, and Cisco's critical networking infrastructure.

The production deployment marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between the three companies to build an open, large-scale AI platform in Saudi Arabia. This platform will enable HUMAIN customers in the Kingdom and beyond to access advanced AI capabilities through a platform that brings together open models, open software, and locally operated infrastructure.

The AMD Instinct systems are designed for scale, low latency, and operational resilience, enabling HUMAIN to offer GPU-as-a-service across a wide range of use cases. The companies plan to expand the capacity by deploying up to 250 MW of AI infrastructure powered by AMD Instinct MI400 Series GPUs.

This next phase of the joint venture is expected to significantly expand Saudi Arabia's AI capacity, with deployment planned to begin in 2027 and capacity expected to start coming online in the second half of the year. The companies aim to deploy up to 1 GW of AI infrastructure by 2030.
