Saudi Arabia Unveils Major AI Infrastructure Platform with AMD and Cisco
AMD, Cisco, and HUMAIN have launched an open AI infrastructure platform in Saudi Arabia, marking a significant milestone for the region's growing demand for sovereign AI computing capacity. The production environment combines AMD's MI355X accelerators and EPYC CPUs with Cisco's networking infrastructure, including Silicon One-based products.
The platform is designed to support high-performance GPU-as-a-service workloads, from large-scale model training to inference. HUMAIN customers in Saudi Arabia and other markets are already using the production environment.
The launch represents a major step towards deploying up to 1 GW of AI infrastructure by 2030. The companies plan to deploy an additional 250 MW of AI infrastructure beginning in 2027, with capacity expected to come online in the second half of that year.
