SB19 Teams Up with Senator to Support Filipino Artists Abroad

SB19 and Senator Bam Aquino are working together on a bill that aims to support Filipino artists in their creative endeavors. The P-pop group was recognized at the Senate for their historic performance at Lollapalooza in July, where they shared details about the upcoming legislation.

'If you're working for a creative industry, it's hard to look for a sector dedicated for it,' Josh from SB19 said during a livestream. He emphasized that creatives should be considered as 'one of the gems of this country' because they promote Philippine culture and talents worldwide.

Aquino, who is sponsoring the Senate Resolution commending SB19, also appeared in the livestream and promised to work on the bill together with the group. He revealed that he previously met with Pablo and Josh from SB19 to discuss issues faced by Filipino artists when going abroad, such as visa problems.

Aquino stated that they will file the bill soon with support from the Department of Trade and Industry. Once passed, it will establish a Philippine agency for creative industries, similar to the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), which supports Korean creative industries.
