Scammers Sell Fake AI Subscriptions Worth Up to $2,000 with Convincing Google Sign-ins
Scammers have been using a $249 website toolkit to sell unverified AI subscriptions worth up to $2,000 per year. Malwarebytes discovered over 100 websites built with this toolkit, all tied to the same developer details and closely related.
The sites use genuine Google sign-in screens, which are convincing but do not guarantee trust. The researchers found that the sites share identical underlying files and closely related developer email addresses, suggesting a single operator or group is behind the network.
Prices on the sites range from under $10 per month to over $2,000 per year. Some sites ask users to upload documents or recordings before any option to try the product exists. The sites give almost no information about who operates them, making refunds and disputes difficult.
