Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 Experiences Cabin Ceiling Collapse Mid-Flight
A Boeing 737 operated by Sepehran Airlines experienced a terrifying mechanical failure on September 15, causing cabin ceiling panels to collapse onto passengers during an emergency return to Mashhad, Iran.
The flight from Mashhad Hashemi Nejad International Airport to Kermanshah International Airport had just taken off when a tire reportedly burst from the landing gear, causing engine damage and severe vibrations that shook the aircraft violently. The captain declared an emergency and immediately returned to Mashhad, where all passengers were evacuated safely.
Dramatic video footage captured from inside the cabin shows the plane shaking violently as it approached the runway, with sections of the overhead compartments and ceiling panels detaching and falling onto people below. Passengers' belongings fell from the bins, hitting some people inside the aircraft.
