Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 Suffers Mid-Flight Mechanical Failure in Iran
A Boeing 737 operated by Sepehran Airlines suffered a terrifying mechanical failure on September 15, causing violent shaking that led to a partial collapse of the cabin ceiling during an emergency return to Mashhad, Iran. The domestic flight was heading to Kermanshah International Airport when a tire reportedly burst from the landing gear shortly after takeoff.
The severe vibrations damaged parts of the cabin ceiling and overhead compartments, causing lightweight decorative plastic trim to detach and fall onto unsuspecting passengers. Passengers' belongings fell from the bins, with some items hitting people inside the aircraft.
Despite the chaos, the pilots successfully landed the plane, and all passengers were able to disembark safely. The Iran Civil Aviation Organization has opened an investigation into the incident, which marks the second recent emergency involving Sepehran Airlines at Mashhad airport.
