ServiceNow Buys Israeli Startup Sweep for $400 Million AI Push

ServiceNow has acquired Israeli startup Sweep for approximately $400 million. The deal is part of ServiceNow's push into AI-native enterprise software, according to a spokesperson. Founded in 2021 by Ido Gever and Eran Kirshenboim, Sweep helps enterprises map and manage complex systems, workflows, and permissions. Its technology collects metadata from platforms like Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Snowflake, mapping dependencies and business logic into a unified graph.

This allows development teams and AI agents to understand how systems interact and assess the potential impact of changes before deployment. Sweep's 'metadata agents' can be used for tasks such as code documentation, system monitoring, process analysis, and permission management.

The acquisition is the latest in ServiceNow's growing Israeli M&A activity, following deals for Pyramid Analytics, Traceloop, and ai.work, as well as its $7.75 billion acquisition of Armis. Sweep employs around 90 people across Tel Aviv, New York, Lisbon, and Madrid, having raised approximately $57.6 million to date.
