Severe Turbulence Hits Iranian Flight as Boeing 737 Returns to Mashhad
A Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 experienced a frightening emergency on September 15 while flying from Mashhad to Kermanshah in Iran.
Reports suggest that a landing-gear tyre suffered a problem, causing severe vibrations and an engine-related emergency.
The pilot was forced to return to Mashhad, where the aircraft landed safely with no reported injuries.
Dramatic footage from inside the cabin shows passengers screaming and chanting as overhead compartments and sections of the cabin ceiling appeared to come loose.
