Shahrbanoo Sadat's NO GOOD MEN: A Story of Love Amidst Afghanistan's Turmoil
Afghanistan's cinematic scene has been captivated by Shahrbanoo Sadat's film, NO GOOD MEN, which tells a poignant story of love and redemption in the face of war.
The movie follows Naru, a camerawoman at Kabul's main TV station, as she struggles to maintain custody of her three-year-old son after leaving her husband. A serial cheater, he has left Naru with doubts about the existence of good men in Afghanistan.
Naru's life takes an unexpected turn when Qodrat, a respected journalist at Kabul TV, offers her a career opportunity. As they criss-cross the city reporting on its last days of freedom, sparks fly between them, and Naru begins to question her initial skepticism about good men.
The film is set in 2021, immediately before the return of the Taliban, adding an air of urgency and tension to the narrative. The screening will take place at the Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema, starting at 8:30 pm, with actor Anwar Hashimi in attendance to greet the audience.
