Sherwin-Williams Expands North American Manufacturing Capacity with Statesville Facility Upgrade

The Sherwin-Williams Company has expanded its architectural paint and coatings manufacturing facility in Statesville, North Carolina. The new facility is now the largest plant in North America for the company.

The expansion was years in the making, with construction and planning taking place over several years. It adds nearly 50,000 square feet of production space, four new rail spurs, and related infrastructure to streamline material handling and improve operational efficiency.

Heidi Petz, Chair, President and CEO of Sherwin-Williams, said the expansion will help the company better serve its customers across North America. 'This grand opening marks an important milestone for Sherwin-Williams and our Statesville team,' she said. 'With expanded production space, new rail infrastructure and greater automation, this facility gives us more flexibility and efficiency in how we manufacture and move products across our global supply network.'

The expansion was made possible by a public-private partnership between Sherwin-Williams and the state of North Carolina, Iredell County, and the City of Statesville. The project includes approved incentives in support of the project.
