Sherwin-Williams Names Soft Green Shade Celery as 2027 Color of the Year
Sherwin-Williams has announced its 2027 Color of the Year as Celery (SW 6421), a soft and muted green shade that brings a calming yet uplifting presence to any space. The color is part of the company's 'Rewild' color palette, which aims to create spaces rooted in comfort, connection, and modern sophistication. According to Sherwin-Williams, Celery reflects three contemporary values: wellness, balance, and connection.
Celery has a subtle yellow undertone, making it feel welcoming despite being a cool color. It is not as bold or polarizing as chartreuse but packs a more sophisticated punch. The color marketing manager at Sherwin-Williams, Ashley Banbury, said that the team chose Celery to help create spaces that feel both soothing and energizing, simulating the effect of spending time in nature.
The 'Rewild' palette includes complementary colors such as Potentially Purple (SW 6821) and Kirsch Red (SW 6313), which pair well with Celery. The team at Sherwin-Williams put care into selecting each year's colors, and 2027 is no exception.
