Sherwin-Williams Unveils Largest North American Facility in Statesville
Sherwin-Williams celebrated the opening of its expanded manufacturing facility in Statesville, North Carolina, on September 30. The site, now the company’s largest in North America, added nearly 50,000 square feet of production space, along with upgrades to automation, infrastructure, and four new rail spurs. These enhancements aim to improve operational efficiency and streamline material handling. Heidi Petz, Chair, President, and CEO of Sherwin-Williams, highlighted the facility’s role in strengthening the company’s supply chain responsiveness and global production network.
The expansion increases manufacturing capacity and improves logistics to meet growing customer demand. The facility complements a nearby distribution center, reinforcing Sherwin-Williams’ global operations. The project reflects a partnership between the company, the state of North Carolina, Iredell County, and the City of Statesville, supported by approved incentives. Statesville was chosen for its transportation access, skilled workforce, and strategic position within the company’s network.
North Carolina Lt. Governor Rachel Hunt praised the expansion during the ceremony, emphasizing its role in advanced manufacturing, job creation, and economic growth. Other attendees included local officials, employees, and project partners. Sherwin-Williams has operated in Statesville since 1993 and serves professional, industrial, commercial, and retail customers through over 5,400 stores in more than 120 countries.
