ShinyHunters Demands $13 Million for Alleged CyrusOne Data Breach
Cybercrime group ShinyHunters claims to have breached data center operator CyrusOne, LLC, and is demanding $13 million in exchange for nearly 640 GB of allegedly stolen data. The breach allegedly took place on August 23.
The claimed haul includes over 12.9 million Salesforce records and 645 GB of SharePoint data, comprising 288,729 files across 60,513 folders. ShinyHunters also claims to have obtained more than 8,300 employee records, including names, email addresses, job titles, and phone numbers.
The group alleges that the dataset contains thousands of documents and security-sensitive material, including executed contracts, master service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and data center schematics. CyrusOne has not publicly confirmed the alleged breach.
