Shopify Stands to Gain as Amazon Blocks Meta's AI Agent
Meta Platforms' Muse agentic AI is gaining traction in e-commerce, but Amazon's reluctance to integrate it into its platform may benefit other companies. The tech giant has chosen to block Meta's Muse from purchasing products on its website, paving the way for Shopify and PayPal to capitalize on this new trend.
The partnership between Shopify and Meta allows consumers to seamlessly browse and purchase items through Muse, while Amazon is building its own suite of AI agents. Nebius, a provider of AI compute resources, stands to benefit from the growing demand for data centers that can handle the intense workloads of AI models and agents.
Shopify's President Harley Finkelstein has emphasized the company's commitment to expanding what's possible for customers through AI, stating 'no one else comes close.' With solid fundamentals, including 34% year-over-year revenue growth in the second quarter, Shopify is well-positioned to take advantage of this emerging trend.
Nebius has already seen its value soar with recent deals worth over $40 million per megawatt, up from $12 million at the start of 2026. As Muse continues to gain popularity and more data centers come online, Nebius' revenue and margins are expected to expand.
