Shorty's Legacy Lives On: Beloved Husband, Father, and Friend Passes Away

Gregory Oliver Brown, affectionately known as 'Shorty,' passed away on September 14th, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1947, Greg grew up in N. Canton and was the oldest of three surviving siblings.

Greg attended THE Ohio State University, where he excelled academically and athletically as a letterman gymnast and OSU cheerleader. He entered the construction field at his father's company at 15 and spent 50 years in leadership roles, managing large commercial projects across the country, including rebuilding the American Express tower at Ground Zero.

After retiring, Greg consulted and played golf with friends at BridgeMill Club for 25 years. He was known for his love of nature, particularly during the Fall season. In his later years, he spent time with his wife Pamela, nephew Joseph, and their pup Ziggy.

Greg's family meant everything to him, and he was deeply devoted to them. He had a special gift for bringing joy and laughter into any room and demonstrated strong values and loyalty throughout his life.
