Singapore Airlines is embarking on a S$2 billion ($1.6 billion) cabin overhaul to enhance its premium travel experience. The airline unveiled its plans on Friday, November 6, introducing private first-class suites with the world's largest double bed, redesigned business-class seats, and upgraded entertainment and dining services. These changes will roll out progressively from the second half of 2027 on Airbus A350-900 and new Boeing 777-9 aircraft.

The first-class suites are designed for couples, featuring two adjoining seats that convert into a sofa or double bed. Each suite includes curved sliding doors for privacy, 32-inch 4K entertainment screens, and Bang & Olufsen noise-cancelling headphones. Business-class cabins will also get sliding privacy doors, fully flat beds, and seating arrangements for couples. Passengers will enjoy 22-inch 4K screens, wireless charging, and smart cabin controls that remember individual preferences.

The overhaul covers 72 aircraft, including 41 Airbus A350s and 31 Boeing 777-9s. The airline had initially planned to introduce these upgrades on the Boeing 777-9, but delays prompted it to extend the program to its existing Airbus fleet. The changes follow extensive research involving over 5,000 frequent travelers, customers, employees, and industry experts.

Additional upgrades include Starlink satellite internet, refreshed KrisWorld entertainment platform, and new dining options. The airline is also investing over S$130 million in upgrading its SilverKris lounges, including enhanced concierge services and priority immigration for first-class passengers at Singapore Changi Airport.
