Singapore Institute of Technology and IBM Launch Quantum-Safe Centre
The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and IBM are partnering to establish a Quantum-Safe Centre in Singapore. The centre will serve as a hub for enterprise, technology, academic, and research stakeholders to collaborate on staying ahead of future quantum risks.
The centre will help organisations assess their risk levels, adopt new security approaches, and develop the talent needed for the post-quantum era. It's located in the SIT Punggol Campus within the Punggol Digital District (PDD) and is set to launch by the end of 2026.
Globally, the digital economy relies on cryptography to protect trillions of transactions across billions of devices. However, as quantum computing advances, encryption methods currently in use may become increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats from bad actors.
