Single Woman's Unconventional Husband Application Attracts Over 240 Suitors
A single woman from Charlotte, North Carolina has taken an unconventional approach to finding her future husband. Arin Patterson, 36, created a three-page Google Form that potential suitors could fill out to apply for the role. The form asked about their qualifications, interests, and goals, as well as more personal questions like what they would say about themselves in a reference check.
Patterson explained that she was inspired by her parents' 44-year marriage and wanted to try something different from the traditional dating scene. She posted the application on Instagram in late August and received over 240 submissions, along with an estimated 1,000-1,500 direct messages. Patterson plans to categorize the applicants in a spreadsheet to see who might move to the next phase.
Patterson emphasized that she is not desperate, but rather clear about what she wants. 'Wanting something and saying what you want is one of the fastest ways to get it,' she said.
