Singularity Swamps Bottlenecks in Financial Markets
The concept of Singularity has taken on a new definition in finance, referring to vast capital flows that render any bottleneck instantly arbitraged away. This phenomenon is already visible in the burgeoning market for Vera Rubin's NVL72 chip, which generates up to 10 times more tokens per megawatt than Blackwell.
As a result, data centers are being powered by whatever means necessary, including stripping engines off private jets. Caterpillar, Cummins, GE Vernova, and Siemens Energy are racing to supply the increasing demand for megawatts.
The two wealthiest US counties also happen to be the top two data center counties, underscoring the connection between wealth and data processing capacity.
