Skyliner Closure Causes Headaches for Disney Families
Disney World's Skyliner gondola service will shut down for annual maintenance from January 24 to January 30, 2027. The closure affects guests staying at four popular resorts: Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, and Riviera Resort.
During this time, complimentary buses will be provided as an alternative mode of transportation to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. However, for families with young children, the Skyliner closure may cause more inconvenience than just the change in transportation route.
Families often rely on strollers as mobile storage units, carrying everything from diaper bags to toys and snacks. The Skyliner allows single strollers and tandem double strollers to board without being collapsed, making it a convenient perk for parents.
When buses are used instead, strollers must be folded before boarding, adding an extra task for already overwhelmed parents. This may seem like a minor issue, but after several days in the parks, it can become a significant headache.
