Slack Becomes Salesforce's Conversational Hub for CRM Data
Salesforce is expanding Slack's capabilities to make it a conversational hub for customer relationship management (CRM) data and workflow automation. This integration aims to reduce the need for employees to leave workplace conversations to manage tasks or query records.
The company announced that Slackbot, its AI-powered assistant, has surpassed one million monthly active users as of September 15, a growth rate of 145% quarter-over-quarter. Slackbot operates in both Slack and Salesforce Lightning Experience, allowing users to request actions such as flagging inactive deals or preparing responses to delayed-order cases.
Salesforce is also introducing live, interactive interfaces called Slackforce Surfaces that can display data from various sources within Slack. This feature enables employees to view pipelines, forecasts, case backlogs, and campaign reports directly within the platform. The expansion builds on previous integrations such as Agentforce Sales in Slack, which can monitor deals, identify risks, recommend actions, and update Salesforce records.
The acquisition of Slack by Salesforce has been integrated into their platforms, connecting workplace communications with customer data and business applications. As Denise Dresser, Slack CEO, stated: 'Every company is asking where their agents will live, how they'll get context, and how to make them useful. Slack is the answer.'
