Small Budget, Big Impact: One Woman's Kitchen Makeover Magic

Anna Westbury, a homeowner in South Carolina, decided to give her 1960s kitchen a major makeover on a small budget. The dark wood cabinets and clunky fan made the space feel imposing and low-ceilinged.

Westbury's plan was to make a huge impact with minimal spending, so she got creative with DIY changes. She repainted the lower cabinets in deep green (Valspar's 'Treeline') and the uppers and walls in bright white (Sherwin-Williams' 'Extra White').

The result is a two-toned look that Westbury says feels truly like her own style.

In addition to the new color scheme, Westbury created a breakfast nook by utilizing empty space at one end of the kitchen. She added a vintage-inspired table from Home Goods and thrifted cane chairs, finishing off the area with plants and artwork.
