Snap Stock Soars on New Partnerships for SPECS Augmented Reality Glasses
Snap Inc.'s stock price rose by about 3% in premarket trading on Thursday, thanks to new partnerships that expand the use cases for its SPECS augmented reality glasses. The company announced collaborations with Salesforce, Nvidia, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to bring AI and computing capabilities to SPECS for field service, remote support, and retail applications.
The partnerships will allow workers to use Agentforce AI from Salesforce to identify objects, create cases, retrieve information, and update workflows. AWS is also bringing its workplace assistant, Amazon Quick, to SPECS, while Nvidia's XR technology supports real-time guidance.
Snap did not disclose financial terms of the agreements. The partnerships expand the SPECS story beyond consumer AR by connecting the glasses to workplace applications. Advertising remains Snap's primary revenue source, but the company is developing SPECS as an additional growth opportunity.
