Snap Taps Tech Giants in Bid to Bring Augmented Reality Glasses to Enterprise
Snap, the company behind Snapchat, is making a move to bring its augmented reality glasses, Specs, into the enterprise market. The company has partnered with Nvidia, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Salesforce to make this happen.
The Specs AR glasses were first introduced in June 2026, priced at $2,195 with a $200 refundable deposit. While Snap initially targeted the public market, it's now shifting focus towards businesses.
Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snap, explained that the company wants to make it easy for enterprises to use Specs, citing Nvidia's open-source XR AI platform as an example. The goal is to provide benefits from this technology to businesses without requiring extensive development.
Snap is also launching a consumer-oriented AI service called Specs Intelligence, which will be integrated with AR glasses and other devices like iPhones and Mac computers. This service will have a free tier and various pricing plans based on usage.
