Snap Teams Up with Tech Giants for Enterprise-Friendly AR Glasses
Snap Inc., the parent company of social media platform Snapchat, is targeting enterprises with its Specs augmented-reality glasses by integrating them with workplace tools from leading companies like Salesforce and Nvidia.
The move aims to carve a foothold in the competitive market dominated by Meta Platforms Inc. The enterprise software maker Salesforce will add its AI agent platform Agentforce into Specs, allowing workers to access company data and automate tasks through the glasses.
Nvidia will power the AI, enabling Specs to interpret a worker's visual environment and retrieve relevant company data. Amazon Web Services (AWS) will offer its AI assistant, allowing employees to use voice commands for tasks such as checking product availability.
The partnerships also include software company Trifork and augmented-reality software firm Hololight. The charging case for Specs, sold separately, will have cellular connectivity through telecom partners like Verizon in the U.S., Orange in France, and BT Group's EE in the UK.
