Snap Teams Up with Tech Giants on Enhanced AR Glasses
Snap Inc.'s (NYSE:SNAP) shares rose over 4% in extended trading after announcing new partnerships with major tech companies. The partnerships aim to bring advanced computing capabilities to Snap's augmented reality glasses, SPECS.
The deals include collaborations with Salesforce (NYSE:CRM), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA). Salesforce is integrating its Agentforce AI into SPECS, allowing workers to identify issues, create cases, and update workflows without switching between screens. Snap is also working with AWS's workplace AI assistant, Amazon Quick, to provide employees with easy access to relevant information.
Nvidia will bring its XR Stack to SPECS, enabling the glasses to understand a worker's surroundings and provide real-time guidance. The companies are exploring how these capabilities can support various enterprise workflows.
Snap did not disclose the financial terms of the partnerships, which also include deals with Trifork and Hololight. The company first unveiled SPECS in June at a price of $2,195. Customers can try the AR glasses hands-on starting in October at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles.
