Snap's AR Glasses Secure Major Partnerships Amid Scalability Concerns
Snap has secured major partnerships for its AR glasses, which are set to hit factory floors and shop counters. The company announced that Nvidia, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Salesforce have signed on as enterprise partners for its Specs eyewear.
The move marks a second market for the device, which investors met with skepticism in June when it launched at $2,195 per unit. While the consumer pitch has been tough to sell, corporate buyers face their own hurdles, including high upfront costs and scalability challenges.
Snap is targeting retail, manufacturing, and field operations with its Specs, and each partner brings a unique value proposition to the table. Salesforce will integrate its Agentforce workplace AI platform into Specs, allowing staff to identify objects, open cases, and update records hands-free. AWS will connect Specs to Amazon Quick, its AI assistant for work.
Nvidia supplies AI agents from its XR software stack, which can read a room, pull company data, and coach workers through tasks. However, the announcement stops short of providing commercial details, including pilot customers or enterprise pricing.
