Soft Greens Replace White as Top Choice for Kids' Bedrooms

Designers are speaking out against painting children's bedrooms white, deeming it 'cold and clinical' for kids. According to interior designers Lisa Quinn and Brittany Lyons, a soft green is a better choice for creating a calming and nature-inspired space.

The designers agree that soft greens bring a grounding effect to the room without being too babyish or gender-specific. They recommend muted shades like sage green, which can be paired with white or wood finishes without clashing with brightly colored toys and accessories.

Quinn, who painted her own child's room sage green, suggests choosing softer tones like Benjamin Moore Saybrook Sage or Gray Cashmere. Lyons also recommends Sherwin-Williams Sea Salt as a great option for creating a neutral and calming effect in the room.
