South Dakotans Favor Tillamook Ice Cream Above All Else

A nationwide study of ice cream preferences has revealed that Americans' favorite brands vary from state to state. Researchers at Trace One analyzed Google Trends data from August 2025 through July 2026 and found that Texas-based Blue Bell was the most-searched brand overall, ranking number one in 22 states.

Ben & Jerry's led in nine states, while Oregon-based Tillamook topped eight. Baskin-Robbins, Turkey Hill, Halo Top, and Breyers also claimed the top spot in several states.

In South Dakota, however, Tillamook was the most-searched ice cream brand.
