The creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, have announced a satirical name change for their long-running animated series. They claim to be inspired by the 'bravery and patriotism' of Apple and Google in adopting geographic name changes ordered by the Trump administration.

The move is seen as a critique not only of government actions but also the willingness of major corporations to adopt them. The announcement was made ahead of Season 29's premiere, with Parker and Stone stating that they are changing the show's name from South Park to South America.

This is not the first time the series has targeted Trump or his administration. The show's recent season has repeatedly mocked the president, including a depiction of him in a relationship with Satan and portrayals of Vice President JD Vance as Tattoo from Fantasy Island.
