South Park Renamed to 'South America' in Trump-Bashing Move

The popular animated TV show 'South Park' has been renamed to 'South America' in a satirical move by its creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The change is a response to President Donald Trump's request that well-known geographic locations be changed to U.S.-centric titles, with his latest call being to rename Lake Ontario to 'Lake America'. Apple and Google have agreed to make this change on their map apps.

Parker and Stone are also taking aim at the White House, big tech, and their own corporate bosses. The show's producers said they were 'inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google' when making the name change.

The 29th season of the show is set to premiere next Wednesday on Comedy Central, which is owned by Paramount Skydance. Parker and Stone didn't spare their parent company either, renaming it 'Skydance Capitulation' in the process.
