Southern Living's 2026 Idea House Showcases Texas Hill Country Charm
The Southern Living Idea House for 2026 has been unveiled in Fredericksburg, Texas. This year's design showcases the warmth and relaxed spirit of Hill Country living.
Located just three miles from downtown Fredericksburg, the home is a contemporary farmhouse with 4,000 square feet of space. It features designs and products from eleven sponsors, including ADT, James Hardie, Marvin, Sherwin-Williams, and Volvo Cars.
The home was designed by Jean Liu, Marcus Mohon, and Paloma Contreras, who drew inspiration from the Hill Country landscape. Standout details include a vaulted white oak ceiling in the living room and a kitchen inspired by the region's colors.
Public tours of the Idea House are available through December 20, with tickets available online. A portion of the proceeds will go to Operation Finally Home, Hunt Preservation Society, and Gillespie County Historical Society/Pioneer & Vereins Kirche Museums.
