Southwest and United Reject New Boeing 737 MAX Deliveries Over Software Issue

Boeing's 737 MAX aircraft has hit another snag as two major US airlines have declined to accept new deliveries due to an issue with the flight-management computer software.

The problem, which affects versions 14 and 14.1 of the software, can cause automated vertical navigation to disengage during a specific missed-approach scenario.

Southwest Airlines and United Airlines have informed Boeing that they will not accept new aircraft equipped with the affected software, opting instead for earlier versions.
