SpaceX Aims for $100 Billion Revenue on Vertical Integration Ambitions
At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026, SpaceX's CFO Bret Johnsen outlined ambitious plans for the company, spanning rockets to artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Johnsen emphasized that SpaceX's vertical integration gives it an edge in the market, despite facing intense competition and heavy spending in AI compute. He pointed out that the company has made significant progress with its Starship program, including recent milestones such as payload delivery, engine relight, and second-stage recovery.
SpaceX is targeting $100 billion in annual recurring revenue by 2024, largely driven by a hosting deal worth around $13 billion per year. The company aims to deploy 5-10 gigawatts of terrestrial compute capacity in 2025, with near-term execution risks and industry-wide constraints cited as challenges.
Johnsen also highlighted the potential for orbital compute to reach parity with terrestrial compute by 2025, citing cost savings from falling launch costs. He stated that SpaceX expects deployment to scale significantly through 2028, with tens of gigawatts projected over time.
