SpaceX and Nvidia have teamed up to develop a network of orbital AI data centers, called Starmind. The first satellite in this fleet will feature Nvidia's top-of-the-line Vera CPUs and Rubin GPUs.

Musk explained why they chose Nvidia: 'Going forward, we've decided to build exclusively on Nvidia, because we think the Vera Rubin architecture is the best architecture.'

The Starmind satellites aim to maximize power efficiency by utilizing solar energy in space. This approach could lower compute costs and reduce electricity expenses.

SpaceX has applied to the Federal Communications Commission for a proposal to build up to 1 million Starmind satellites, about 100 times larger than their current Starlink fleet.
