SpaceX Funding Spotlights Three Key AI Infrastructure Stocks
SpaceX's pursuit of up to $40 billion to fund Nvidia AI chips has thrust the specialized world of accelerators and data center hardware into the spotlight, signaling serious investment in AI infrastructure. This shift has highlighted several stocks with significant exposure to the AI boom, including MPI Corporation, X-FAB Silicon Foundries, and ACM Research (Shanghai).
MPI Corporation (TPEX:6223) specializes in semiconductor manufacturing and testing equipment, essential for producing advanced processors for AI data centers. With NT$16.4 billion in revenue from semiconductor equipment and services and a market value of NT$555.6 billion, MPI is a key player in the AI infrastructure space. The company's tools, such as probe cards and thermal test systems, are crucial for turning AI capital expenditures into functional chips. However, future returns may be influenced by external funding pressures.
X-FAB Silicon Foundries (ENXTPA:XFAB) operates specialty foundries focused on analog and mixed-signal chips, as well as silicon photonics, which are vital for high-speed data movement in AI data centers. The company generated $846 million from CMOS and MEMS operations and has a market value of €896 million. X-FAB is expanding its silicon carbide (SiC) manufacturing, with wafer production in the first half of 2025 exceeding all of 2024, positioning itself for growth in data center power management and sustainability themes.
ACM Research (Shanghai) (SHSE:688082) supplies tools for cleaning, plating, and packaging wafers, crucial for producing chips needed for AI accelerators and data-center processors. With CN¥7.2 billion in revenue and a market value of CN¥141.9 billion, ACM Research is well-positioned to benefit from China's technological self-sufficiency initiatives. The company's tools help turn rising chip budgets into physically built wafers, with expectations of maintaining a dominant share in a strong $40B+ China WFE market.
