SpaceX's second-quarter earnings call revealed ambitious growth plans for the company, including an exclusive partnership with Nvidia to design the Starmind AI1 satellite compute payload. The deal will see SpaceX build its AI infrastructure exclusively on Nvidia chips going forward.

Musk stated that SpaceX thinks Nvidia's Vera Rubin architecture is the best architecture and will be used in all future projects. This includes the planned fleet of AI satellites, which will pack Nvidia's next-generation Rubin GPUs and Vera CPUs to deliver datacenter-class computing power in orbit.

SpaceX also announced it is on track to reach more than $100 billion in annualized revenue run rate by December 2026, driven by rapid scaling in AI compute capacity and growth in Starlink and launch services. Musk further noted that there's a non-zero chance of hitting the $1 trillion annual revenue milestone as early as 2029.

Shares of SpaceX dropped after hours despite the optimistic outlook, while Nvidia stock edged up 2% on the news.
