Splunk Bolsters Trust in AI with New Security and Observability Capabilities

Splunk .conf26 marked the unveiling of several new products and capabilities centered around AI agentic security and observability, positioning Splunk as a crucial component in building trustworthy AI systems. Kamal Hathi, senior vice president and Splunk general manager, emphasized that the company's platform is 'reimagined' to facilitate trust in AI.

Splunk has continued to integrate its products with those from Cisco Systems, which acquired Splunk in March 2024 for $28 billion. The Splunk platform serves as the data management foundation for the Cisco Data Fabric architecture and powers Cisco Cloud Control, a unified operations platform.

Juice Patel, Cisco president and chief product officer, highlighted that Splunk is not just about keeping everything running smoothly but also making sure it builds on the core fabric of trust required in this agentic era. He emphasized the need to optimize AI at scale, defend against threats at machine speed, and turn machine data into agentic action.

Splunk introduced several new features during .conf26, including Splunk Agent Observability, which provides visibility into AI infrastructure operations and agent behavior, and Tokenomics, a tool that extends the platform's visibility to AI spending. The company also announced the addition of Essentials and Premier editions of Observability Cloud.
