Spring HS Student Critically Injured After Being Hit on North Freeway

A critical incident occurred on Friday afternoon in Spring, Texas, when one of two students attempting to cross the North Freeway was struck by a pickup truck. The Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) reported that the teenagers were at Home Depot and decided to cross the freeway on foot.

While trying to cross the southbound lanes, one student stopped in response to seeing the approaching truck, but the other did not, according to HCSO. The student who continued was hit by the vehicle and critically injured.

The truck driver attempted to slow down and avoid hitting the student, but unfortunately, the collision occurred. First responders rushed the teen to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest for medical attention.
