SRS Distribution Acquires Two HVAC Distributors Amid Big-Box Retailer Expansion

The Home Depot subsidiary SRS Distribution Inc. has acquired two HVAC distributors: Mingledorff's, Inc., which operates over 40 locations in the South, and Lohmiller & Co., with four locations in Colorado.

Mingledorff's has retained its name and leadership under the acquisition, while Lohmiller will keep its top executives once the deal is finalized.

The move follows Home Depot's 2024 acquisition of SRS and its stated goal to increase its share of the professional trades market. Chairman Ted Decker said that the addition of Mingledorff's represents a key milestone in this strategy.

HVAC professionals have mixed views on the growing presence of big-box retailers in distribution, with some seeing opportunities for lower prices and better logistics but also worrying about potential losses in technical support and training.
