Stablecoin Spending Via Cards Hits Record $189 Million
Stablecoin spending via cards has reached new heights, hitting a record $189 million in the week of September 14. This is not an isolated incident; in fact, weekly volumes have surpassed $200 million multiple times this year alone.
The metrics show that USDC and USDT together accounted for approximately 84% of transaction volume in July, with USDC making up about 58% and USDT around 26%. The average transaction size hovers around $86.
The vast majority of these transactions are processed by Visa, which works across a network of over 130 linked card programs globally. RedotPay led the pack in July with approximately $395 million in tracked volume, followed closely by EtherFi and KAST.
