Stablecoins Set for Under-the-Radar Role in Everyday Payments
Visa believes that stablecoins will increasingly become invisible to the public as they shift from standalone wallets to being embedded in everyday payments.
The payment giant sees stablecoins changing business payouts and international payments, reducing complexity and making payouts near-instant for workers in the creator and gig economy.
According to Visa, global payouts are likely to be one of the most scaled and normalized stablecoin use cases over the next two to three years, often without users consciously thinking about the payment rails underneath.
In an interview with Asian Banking & Finance, Nischint Sanghavi, head of digital currencies for the Visa Asia-Pacific, said that 'every institution that moves money will need a stablecoin strategy.'
