STIHL Appoints New President with Decades of Industry Experience

STIHL Inc. has announced the appointment of Sean McGinnis as its new president, effective October 1, 2026. McGinnis will lead STIHL's largest market and subsidiary, with full profit-and-loss ownership, overseeing manufacturing and operations in Virginia Beach and field sales and marketing teams across the United States.

McGinnis joins STIHL after over 25 years at Caterpillar Inc., where he held various management positions. He most recently served as president of Caterpillar Paving Products Inc., a global subsidiary with full profit-and-loss ownership, overseeing paving product lines and developing growth strategies.

STIHL's chairman of the executive board, Michael Traub, welcomed McGinnis to the company, highlighting his broad experience in commercial leadership, product strategy, and emerging technologies. Traub stated that McGinnis' background will be valuable as STIHL builds on its strengths and pursues new opportunities in the US market.
