Stihl Names Sean McGinnis as New President
Stihl has appointed Sean McGinnis as its new president, effective October 1, 2026. In this role, McGinnis will lead Stihl's largest market and subsidiary in the United States, with full responsibility for the company's Virginia Beach manufacturing operations and end-to-end ownership of profit and loss.
McGinnis brings over 25 years of experience to Stihl, most recently serving as president of Caterpillar Paving Products Inc., a billion-dollar global subsidiary. He has held various management positions at Caterpillar across sales and marketing, product development, and product management.
The chairman of the Stihl executive board, Michael Traub, praised McGinnis' skills, stating that he 'brings a strong record of leading complex global operations while remaining closely connected to customers and dealers.'
