STIHL Taps Caterpillar Executive as New President
STIHL Inc. has appointed Sean McGinnis as its new president, effective October 1, 2026. In this role, McGinnis will lead STIHL's largest market and subsidiary in the US.
McGinnis brings over 25 years of experience from Caterpillar Inc., where he held various management positions across sales, marketing, product development, and product management.
He most recently served as president of Caterpillar Paving Products Inc., a billion-dollar global subsidiary that develops and manufactures equipment for road construction and maintenance. McGinnis has worked extensively with local sales and servicing dealers, mirroring STIHL's own dealer-centered approach.
STIHL Chairman Michael Traub welcomed McGinnis to the company, praising his broad experience in commercial leadership, product strategy, and emerging technologies.
