Stock Market Holds Steady Amid Ongoing Iran Conflict
The US stock market held steady on Tuesday as oil prices eased and Treasury yields remained stable.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 173 points, or 0.4%, to around 10:37 a.m. Eastern time. However, several big technology companies like Nvidia and Broadcom helped offset losses, rising by 0.8% and 3.3% respectively.
Brent crude oil prices dropped 1.5% to $96.41 a barrel after briefly climbing above $100 on Monday. The decline in oil prices came as mediators continued to work with the US and Iran on reaching a deal to end the fighting and open the Strait of Hormuz.
