Stolen Excavator Tracked to Fairfield Home Through Facebook Marketplace Sale

A South Jersey man has been charged after a stolen excavator was tracked to his North Jersey home. The Kubota U17 mini excavator had been reported stolen from Home Depot in Newark, Delaware, and police used GPS to track it to a Fairfield home.

According to the police report, the homeowner told investigators that he bought the excavator on Facebook Marketplace for an unspecified amount. He provided information about the seller, which led police to identify Raymond Iddeen of Millville as the person who sold him the stolen equipment.

A photo array was conducted after reviewing photographs, electronic communications, and transaction information associated with the sale, which positively identified Iddeen as the individual who sold the man the excavator. Iddeen is charged with receiving stolen property and fencing.
