Stratolaunch Expands Fleet with Used Boeing 777 for Hypersonic Testing

Stratolaunch, a company specializing in hypersonic testing, has acquired a used Boeing 777-200ER to expand its fleet. The aircraft was previously operated by Air New Zealand and will be converted into a carrier plane for Stratolaunch's Talon-A hypersonic test vehicle.

The purchase is part of Stratolaunch's efforts to increase its capacity and meet the growing demand for hypersonic testing services. With this acquisition, the company now has three carrier aircraft: Roc, Spirit of Mojave, and the new Boeing 777-200ER.

According to Stratolaunch, the addition of the Boeing 777 will enhance its flight flexibility and increase its long-term capacity by about 35%.
