Supreme Court Decision Reverses Conspiracy and Torture Claims Against Government Contractor
A previous court ruling that allowed plaintiffs to bring conspiracy and torture claims against CACI Premier Technology, Inc. has been overturned by the Supreme Court.
The court's framework for evaluating these claims was effectively overruled in Cisco Systems Inc. v. Doe I, a decision from earlier this year.
As a result of this change, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed the plaintiffs' claims, ruling that they are no longer cognizable under the Alien Tort Statute.
