Surface Pro 12-inch and Laptop 13-inch Get Major Performance Boost with Snapdragon X2 Plus
Microsoft has unveiled its latest Surface Pro and Laptop devices at the Snapdragon Summit. The new models, which include the Surface Pro 12-inch and the Surface Laptop 13-inch, feature a faster and more efficient processor - the Snapdragon X2 Plus.
The new processors in these devices are up to 17% faster for Office productivity, use up to 18% less battery power, have over 60% faster graphics performance, and can run local AI tasks up to 95% faster. These improvements were achieved through collaboration with Qualcomm while the chip was still in development.
Both devices retain their previous designs but now feature a new Black finish option. The Surface Pro 12-inch has a 3:2 PixelSense LCD display that peaks at 500 nits, which is 25% brighter than before. It also weighs 1.5 pounds without the keyboard and has up to 15.5 hours of local video playback.
The Surface Laptop 13-inch features a similar display but with a lower resolution, weighing in at 2.7 pounds. Both devices are available for pre-order now and will start shipping on October 13 in select markets.
